I started my career in the creative industries in 2004, working with LiteFX Models on set design and practical SFX. From there, I began branching out into other areas of production, building experience in film, television, and live events.

Early credits included Making Ugly © Vernon Films 2012 and Blackbird © Deerstalker Films / Transgressive North 2013, alongside training with Media Base Edinburgh and the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield.

Wanting a formal qualification to back up the experience I had already gained, I studied Creative Industries Television at Edinburgh Napier.

I have worked across camera, lighting, photography, sound, streaming, live broadcast, technical production, DIT, and stage management.

More recently, I have continued developing my skills in emerging production technology, with the NFTS certificate in Virtual Production. This has built on the crossover that has always existed in my work between traditional production, digital systems and new ways of creating images for film and live media.

I have had the chance to work alongside creatives and technical teams from across the UK, Europe and the USA, on projects ranging from independent film and television production to large-scale live events and international conventions.

That work has taken me from filming in the wind and rain of the Isle of Lewis to working with wolfs in Los Angeles, and into increasingly complex production environments involving multi-camera video, streaming, projection, stage, audio, DIT, show control and virtual production.

I also have a professional background in IT and technical support. That crossover between creative production and technology has become one of the most useful parts of what I do. I am equally comfortable behind a camera, backstage at a show, working with production data and digital workflows, troubleshooting a computer system, or helping a production team figure out how to make an ambitious idea actually happen.

After over twenty years working in and around creative production, I am staying hungry and staying curious!
